Florence Fontan has been Chief Conduct & Control Officer (CCCO) for CIB and Global Markets since January 2023. In her role, Florence is responsible for further developing and deploying a strong Conduct and Permanent Control framework across non-financial risks in the first line of defence. Florence joined BNP Paribas in 1998 after a career in consulting. She became Head of Public Affairs in September 2005 with responsibility for monitoring regulatory changes affecting Securities Services across the world and advising clients on how to implement new regulations. Florence became Head of the Asset Manager Client Segment in October 2013, overseeing business strategy, business development, products and services for asset managers. In 2015, Florence became Head of Strategic Change Management, leading BNP Paribas Securities Services’ strategy, public affairs, CSR and technology change programme, including the ongoing roll-out of automation and artificial intelligence technology within the bank. Florence became Head of the Asset Owner Client Line in June 2017, in charge of the strategy, product development and specific solutions for assets owners. Florence Fontan then became Head of Company Engagement & General Secretary of BNP Paribas Securities Services in October 2019, fostering the bank’s collective drive to be the leading positive impact asset servicing provider. Florence was a member of the BNP Paribas Securities Services Executive Committee. Florence has co-authored an ECB occasional paper on the securities custody industry as well as a number of BNP Paribas Securities Services white papers on clearing and settlement, OTC derivatives and on fund services industry. Florence is a graduate of ESSEC Business School.
