Q&A Plenary Panel: The Evolution of the 3 Lines of Defence: Modernising Risk & Controls in Financial Services

ConferencePlenary

2026-06-30 | 09:05 AM - 10:00 AM | Peninsula East

Information

This session will be primarily questions from the audience led by the moderator, with panellists responding to live audience input and targeted follow-up questions to drive an open, forward-looking discussion:

· As we move into the second half of 2026, how has the interpretation of the 3 Lines model materially changed across banks and financial services, and where do you still see legacy systems holding firms back?
· Which emerging risks over the next 3–5 years will place the greatest strain on the current 3 Lines model, and what capabilities must evolve first to address them effectively?
· Where are the boundaries between the lines becoming increasingly blurred today? How should firms decide whether that blurring represents a control weakness or a strategic advantage?
· If you were designing a future-state 3 Lines model for 2026 and beyond what would remain non-negotiable, and what would you redesign or remove?
