- Ted MacDonald is a financial services practitioner who has held senior investment banking roles in business origination, risk management and board-level governance covering much of the planet. He joined the FCA in 2014, led the flagship ‘5 Conduct Questions’ program and was a standing member of the Supervisors Roundtable at the NY Federal Reserve. At the Financial Markets Standards Board since 2022, he has been focusing on conduct and behaviour as well as academic initiatives. Publication topics include: the 3 lines model, conduct and culture MI, front office supervision of wholesale trading and unauthorized trading frameworks. The most recent publication he has contributed to is an extensive review of the future of financial markets published in Sep 2025 marking the 10th anniversary of the FMSB. As an Industry Advisor to Armstrong Wolfe, he supports the International Chief Operating Officer Community. He also maintains strong links with the Leader Character Program at Ivey Business School in Canada and has assisted in teaching character development to Year 4 students at Oxford University Medical School.
